Imbolg

Tommorow is Imbolg so have to try and hug a tree or something, will probably settle for treating myself to some pretty flowers at the florist.

Friday night was quite surreal, a full moon and a very quick, very surprising mini snow blizzard, which has still left the roads and pavements all iced up and not very walker friendly 3 days later. Have to say the moonlight and it bouncing of the snow did make it look very pretty and very bright!

On Saturday we took little man to the Sealife centre, one of his favourite places, which has kicked off again his interest in fishes and sharks. Most impressively he now knows quite a few different species of shark and can also explain the differences between them. Afterwards we stopped off at Wroxham library before heading home in time for me to head off with friends to the church's quiz night. Enjoyed delicious casserole there and thankfully finished in the top half of scoreboard. Our most successful round which we gained full marks for was guess the Mr Men character :) Our worst round was probably a toss between sports and 2009!

Hubbie's birthday!

Little man had a lie in today so what happened - we get a phone call at 7.20 from DFS to say our sofa was coming in half hr typical - all systems go as we still had the old chairs sitting there!

Rushed back from work tonight to prepare one of our 'table teas' in honour of hubbie's birthday. Had a debate with little man who loves these types of teas and who insisted the food stayed where it was for him to carry on with it in the morning. He did not agree with Mummy when it was suggested we put it away to keep it nice and to save it from the cats eating it while we were asleep, by bedtime I was winning but he was still trying to negotiate that the 'crispies' remained left out (this is indeed the only bit of the food he ate but as he had already had a tea at nursery I think we can overlook that). Was surprised he didn't ask for some of Daddy's Star Wars cake though.

What a waste!

Tuesday:
The others have all had a brillant night's sleep and still going now at 7.10am. I know this because I haven't - what a wasted opportunity! Sitting writing this while having a lemslip, just when I think its safe to pack them away, everything comes back again with a venegence! Still lovely day off today with the added bonus of not having to be anywhere. Little man had his flu jab yesterday, I'm told he could be abit feverish today, maybe thats why the powers that be have sent me back to square one as my punishment for inflicting that on him.

Wednesday:
Well I had to cut short yesterday's entry as Little Man was requesting juice & toast.
So here we are on weds (no ill effects from the swineflu jab) and I think I can finally say I'm beginning to feel much better, though the coughing is still dreadful and it still feels difficult to speak for long (hurrah I hear all cry!) not that it matters on a blog aha! Today has been blissful, though very tiring, Mr seems to have forgotten how to exist without me at home for even a second and by that I mean if I'm just in a different room (ie the bathroom) or simply doing chores for a minute instead of playing.
We went to the library bright and early and the shops, we were back home by 10.30 which is unheard of for us. Yesterday we made some jammy biscuits which were a huge success with all so today we thought we'd push our luck and make some cakes, a big sponge and some little fairy cakes. Not quite as good as the biscuits but I reckon our best tasting sponge to date, still got to work on that presentation though.

Good home needed...

for 2 cats with special needs, amongst many things they can provide you with the thrill of the following charms and talents...

1)nip & bite if you don't provide food exactly when they request
2)constant hassling if you don't provide correct type of food they require
3)use kitchen door way as big scratching post
4)leave cat sick on landing for you to narrowly miss stepping in on dark mornings
5)drink your drink by side of bed
6)bring gifts home - alive & dead, extra treats include half eaten pressies or very much live ones which then hide behind fridgefreezer so you can then destroy the flooring a little bit more when having to move ff for umpteenth time
7)bring the above gifts in the middle of the night
8)constantly jump up onto supposedly cat free zone furniture
9)constantly bag the best seats in the house
10) and if you are really lucky they will spray on the end of your child's bed right in front of your face!

now what are you waiting for???? please form an orderly queue now.....

Sunday Evening

Well, was looking forward to my usual evening bath, despite our bathroom being decorated at the mo, but this is what it currently looks like...

So have opted for the equally nice option of tea & chocs downstairs with a good book. Here are a few of my own all time favs...

Happy New Year..finally!

Well, haven't been able to get on here lately, this new year is kicking off how the old one finished - going by very quickly already! First week back into routine and we've had work, nursery, playgroup, playgroup duty, playgroup committee meeting, illness and of course the snow. We might go out today and build another snowman now little man is feeling better but really it has been soooo cold.
We've been having small flurries of snow everyday for so long now I've lost count but we've since had loads more again, think we had another 4 inches yesterday. The 2 mile walk to work is becoming a bit tiresome now, but we've been very busy, everyone stocking up on books I think. Tommorow have to go to work in the morning then have my lunch hour to get into Norwich by bus for 2pm for management course tutorial so that could be fun.
Have to go now as little man has come downstairs.....byeeee.....
