Busy Week!

All go this week, last week before the summer holidays. Little man has enjoyed his bouncy castle morning at playgroup today which was followed by bus ride into Norwich to get school uniform... yikes!

Tommorow is very last playgroup day blub blub weep weep! Hopefully lots of fun will be had at the special sports day party, though it maybe the start of a looooong learning curve that you can't always win everything!

Seaside Holiday

We've had our annual caravan seaside hols this month. Blissful few days near Dymchurch, Kent. Lots of fun on the beach, has made me think we must take little man out more to the lovely beaches we have near to home. Have lots of train photos from our hols due to little man still loving them and being quite happy to go on the hythe - Dungerness light railway 2 days running. Ma & pa came down to join us for a couple of days to help celebrate Little man's bday. Lovely time had by all. Missing the very tame wild rabbits who use to hop about all around our caravan every morning and evening. oooh and we also won the pub quiz in the clubhouse - the only night we dared ventured in. Little man and I had to go on stage to pick up our certificate and everyone sang happy birthday to little man :)

Fish!

Meet the latest additions to our family - Thomas & Gordon. For those of you who know us, no prizes for guessing who named them!

Boasting, gloating mummy!

One of little man's nursery staff came up to me today and said about little man... quote...
"He is a lovely little boy, so polite, always remembers his pleases & thank yous, well done mum you've done a good job bringing him up" (as if its all over, job done LOL!)

bargain hunter...hopefully!

Some of you will know I'm abit of an oxfam online fan having bagged some lovely things in the past from stuff like Zara & Per Una.

I've been wanting to get some cheap summer dresses as the only ones I have are 2 posh ones & one I've stretched beyond recognition having worn it when pregnant alot.

Anyway have finally settled on going for a ditzy pink country casuals dress for £28.

Had a quick look on CC's own website saw loads of stuff I liked - oh dear!! I can't decide what to be more depressed about - the fact that I have purchased 'country casuals' - am I now officially an 'old rural bag - def not down with the kids' or the fact that with dresses on their site approx £100-£160 I can't even afford their normal sale stuff!

oooh sneaky!

Having been locked out, Daisy the cat ever resourceful simply got onto conservatory roof, jumped up to lttle man's open window and promptly hopped into his room. Found this out when we were awoken about 4ish this morning to her scratchy at the door wanting to get out.

About 6.45am now and I'm up starting the day with that head sewn backwards feeling, little man & me about to sit and read The Beano together! Which by the by cost me £3.50!!!!....'was never that in my day'..........

Jack & Daisy - Naughty cats

I am writing this at 1.30am because the cats brought a mouse in a while ago and all hell has broken loose.

Must say I am more annoyed with hubbie than cats - why? because we heard the cats chasing it about downstairs but he refused to get up, saying they'll know where it is in the morning (not too concerned about mouse welfare then!) I must add at this point I'm not too hot on catching them myself so I normally keep my head down & mouth shut, however this time...

They chased it into our bedroom as door had been left open, our mattress is now up against the window and the 2 bits of the base of bed are apart and turned upwards. Locating the mouse is even more difficult thanks to the old computer, keyboard, screen & printer all still in our bedroom having sat there for ages (waiting for mircles to happen and hubbie to 'deal' with it.) Hubbie's mixture of clean & dirty clothes are still strewn over the floor because I haven't got around to finally cracking about it and picking it all up myself as I always do. Does this sound like a married woman's rant, of course it does because it really is!!! Rants not really allowed on my blog but as its mine I can change the rules and it might give some of you a giggle anyway :)

As always happens the cats have now lost interest. Jack has gone back out and Daisy is sitting downstairs right by my feet.

Lots of the crashes and bangs at the mo, god knows what the neighbours must think!

I hope my bed goes back together ok.

I hope little man has a lie in.

oooh good news mouse caught! Hubbie EXTREMELY vexed I have not helped! Got to go and help put room back now, cats have been locked out, better finish this now - if he catches what I'm writing about think I'll be locked out too!

Lovely Sunshine

Wish I could put some photos on here for you as now the sun is finally coming out to play it looks lovely round here. Really think this is the best time of year for Norfolk it looks so pretty everywhere now with the sun out and all the spring flowers.

Little man is still waking up mega early, he seems to be coping it with it much better than me. Looking forward to deliveries today and 2m of scrummy home bits & bobs which include new DARK curtains for little man, hopefully that might work. Rearranged little man's bedroom on sunday so he could have his farmhouse tent/wendy house thing up and since then he has been sleeping in that! Doesn't seem to make any difference waking up early whether he's in a bed or not. We have a Ben 10 duvet winging its way to us though so maybe the bed might be favourite again soon.

Hoping to have a lazy day today as won't have another at home day until sunday.

Internet troubles

Hiya,

Sorry its been soooo long since I've updated. We've had lots of computer trouble at home which is still on going. To cut a long story short we've had a lovely new pc which has been sitting here for weeks, we still can't use it and only have basic stuff on our old pc which we are still using. We have tried to sign a new internet deal with BT and then TalkTalk both of which didn't process our orders correctly and had no record of anything! We are still waiting for TalkTalk to talk talk to us!

Anyway I had given up with the blog with all that going on as I thought it would be pretty boring not being able to upload any pics onto here, but I hadn't anticipated how long this was going to drag on for so I've decided to finally catch up anyway.

Birthday weekend

Had a lovely weekend with mama & papa staying for my birthday. Had a very rare trip into Norwich with just hubbie which felt both weird, guilty and lovely.

Got some gorgeous cards and pressies complete with huge scrummy chocolate cake, which did have the exact right number of candles - it didn't catch fire luckily and I blew all out in one go :)

One of my lovely pressies was a little knitted cake from mum, who won yet another competition with it - she is a genius and I'm really not just saying that because she will read this!

Imbolg

Tommorow is Imbolg so have to try and hug a tree or something, will probably settle for treating myself to some pretty flowers at the florist.

Friday night was quite surreal, a full moon and a very quick, very surprising mini snow blizzard, which has still left the roads and pavements all iced up and not very walker friendly 3 days later. Have to say the moonlight and it bouncing of the snow did make it look very pretty and very bright!

On Saturday we took little man to the Sealife centre, one of his favourite places, which has kicked off again his interest in fishes and sharks. Most impressively he now knows quite a few different species of shark and can also explain the differences between them. Afterwards we stopped off at Wroxham library before heading home in time for me to head off with friends to the church's quiz night. Enjoyed delicious casserole there and thankfully finished in the top half of scoreboard. Our most successful round which we gained full marks for was guess the Mr Men character :) Our worst round was probably a toss between sports and 2009!

Hubbie's birthday!

Little man had a lie in today so what happened - we get a phone call at 7.20 from DFS to say our sofa was coming in half hr typical - all systems go as we still had the old chairs sitting there!

Rushed back from work tonight to prepare one of our 'table teas' in honour of hubbie's birthday. Had a debate with little man who loves these types of teas and who insisted the food stayed where it was for him to carry on with it in the morning. He did not agree with Mummy when it was suggested we put it away to keep it nice and to save it from the cats eating it while we were asleep, by bedtime I was winning but he was still trying to negotiate that the 'crispies' remained left out (this is indeed the only bit of the food he ate but as he had already had a tea at nursery I think we can overlook that). Was surprised he didn't ask for some of Daddy's Star Wars cake though.

What a waste!

Tuesday:
The others have all had a brillant night's sleep and still going now at 7.10am. I know this because I haven't - what a wasted opportunity! Sitting writing this while having a lemslip, just when I think its safe to pack them away, everything comes back again with a venegence! Still lovely day off today with the added bonus of not having to be anywhere. Little man had his flu jab yesterday, I'm told he could be abit feverish today, maybe thats why the powers that be have sent me back to square one as my punishment for inflicting that on him.

Wednesday:
Well I had to cut short yesterday's entry as Little Man was requesting juice & toast.
So here we are on weds (no ill effects from the swineflu jab) and I think I can finally say I'm beginning to feel much better, though the coughing is still dreadful and it still feels difficult to speak for long (hurrah I hear all cry!) not that it matters on a blog aha! Today has been blissful, though very tiring, Mr seems to have forgotten how to exist without me at home for even a second and by that I mean if I'm just in a different room (ie the bathroom) or simply doing chores for a minute instead of playing.
We went to the library bright and early and the shops, we were back home by 10.30 which is unheard of for us. Yesterday we made some jammy biscuits which were a huge success with all so today we thought we'd push our luck and make some cakes, a big sponge and some little fairy cakes. Not quite as good as the biscuits but I reckon our best tasting sponge to date, still got to work on that presentation though.

Good home needed...

for 2 cats with special needs, amongst many things they can provide you with the thrill of the following charms and talents...

1)nip & bite if you don't provide food exactly when they request
2)constant hassling if you don't provide correct type of food they require
3)use kitchen door way as big scratching post
4)leave cat sick on landing for you to narrowly miss stepping in on dark mornings
5)drink your drink by side of bed
6)bring gifts home - alive & dead, extra treats include half eaten pressies or very much live ones which then hide behind fridgefreezer so you can then destroy the flooring a little bit more when having to move ff for umpteenth time
7)bring the above gifts in the middle of the night
8)constantly jump up onto supposedly cat free zone furniture
9)constantly bag the best seats in the house
10) and if you are really lucky they will spray on the end of your child's bed right in front of your face!

now what are you waiting for???? please form an orderly queue now.....

Sunday Evening

Well, was looking forward to my usual evening bath, despite our bathroom being decorated at the mo, but this is what it currently looks like...

So have opted for the equally nice option of tea & chocs downstairs with a good book. Here are a few of my own all time favs...

Happy New Year..finally!

Well, haven't been able to get on here lately, this new year is kicking off how the old one finished - going by very quickly already! First week back into routine and we've had work, nursery, playgroup, playgroup duty, playgroup committee meeting, illness and of course the snow. We might go out today and build another snowman now little man is feeling better but really it has been soooo cold.
We've been having small flurries of snow everyday for so long now I've lost count but we've since had loads more again, think we had another 4 inches yesterday. The 2 mile walk to work is becoming a bit tiresome now, but we've been very busy, everyone stocking up on books I think. Tommorow have to go to work in the morning then have my lunch hour to get into Norwich by bus for 2pm for management course tutorial so that could be fun.
Have to go now as little man has come downstairs.....byeeee.....
